Sinopsis:

Kisah berawal satu bulan setelah komet telah jatuh untuk pertama kalinya dalam seribu tahun di Jepang. Mengisahkan dua orang remaja yang lahir dan hidup ditempat yang berbeda. Mitsuha adalah seorang gadis SMA yang tinggal di daerah pedesaan di pegunungan. Ayahnya yang jarang pulang kerumah membuat Mitsuha hanya hidup bersama
nenek dan adiknya yang masih SD. Mitsuha sering berkeinginan untuk pergi ke Tokyo, karena bosan hidup di pedesaan. Kemudian, ada Taki. Dia seorang siswa SMA yang tinggal di Tokyo dengan teman-temannya saat bekerja sebagai bagian-timer di restoran Italia. Dia juga tertarik dengan kesenian dan arsitektur. Suatu hari mereka mengalami pengalaman aneh dimana Mitsuha bermimpi dirinya menjadi seorang laki-laki. Dan sebaliknya, Taki bermimpi dirinya menjadi perempuan yang tinggal di daerah pegunungan yang tak pernah ia datangi. Apa rahasia di balik mimpi-mimpi mereka? ikutin kisahnya....

Synopsis:

The story begins one month after the comet has fallen for the first time in a thousand years in Japan. Tells the story of two teenagers who were born and live in different places. Mitsuha is a high school girl who lived in a rural area in the mountains. Her father, who seldom came home to make Mitsuha only lives with her grandmother and brother were still in elementary school. Mitsuha often eager to go to Tokyo, because tired of living in the countryside. Then, there is Taki. He was a high school student who lives in Tokyo with his friends while working as a part-timer at the Italian restaurant. He was also interested in art and architecture. One day they had an odd experience where Mitsuha dreamed himself into a man. And conversely, Taki dreamed himself into a woman who lives in a mountainous area that he never attended.
